Lost country
This Poem was for the people of Iraq and their suffering and current conditions.
We stand beneath our flag with pain and sorrow,
Not knowing what rules we have to follow.
We’re stuck between right and wrong,
But we stand together stiff and strong.
Our hearts break when we lose our loved ones,
But we trust our belief for the young ones.
The days go by and we lose our country,
And when we look back there is nothing … not even one tree.
My heart grows bigger as I discover more about my background,
And how everyday people full to the wounded ground.
It’s a shame that such a historical place,
Can become a ruined home that can never be replaced.
If only the world could be peaceful and kind,
Iraqis could start to loosen up their suffering minds.

The Treasure of Life
I opened the door not knowing what to expect,
So slowly, quietly and cautiously I crept.
It was quite dark inside I could barely see a thing,
Then I saw something wonderful something fit for a king.
It shined so bright I had to close my eyes,
It was beautiful and charming a splendid surprise.
I took a step forward feeling as though this was a dream,
But I thought to myself how much more real could it seem.
I wanted it really bad but…. was it the right thing to do,
People would say I’m rich but…. would they say I’m greedy too.
My heart was pounding out of my chest,
But I had to do what I thought was best.
So I reached forward grasping the elixir of life,
As it spread through me I felt my body ignite.
