Thank you for your interest in the Special Immigrant Visa Chief of Mission Approval (SIVCOM) Program.
We are writing to confirm that the National Visa Center (NVC) has received all of the documentation necessary for the initial processing of your Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) application.
Your case is currently under review at U.S. Embassy Baghdad with the Chief of Mission designee. U.S. Embassy Baghdad's Chief of Mission designee generally requires approximately three months to complete the case review.
We will contact you again as soon as we receive the Chief of Mission designee's decision, or in the event that we need additional documentation or clarification.
If your Chief of Mission approval is granted, the following will need to be submitted to the Department of Homeland Security's Office of United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS). Please DO NOT send any of the below information to USCIS until you have received your decision letter from the NVC.
1) A completed Form I-360 application. For instructions regarding filing your I-360 please visit the following website:

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-360.pdf); 2) A copy of the passport, birth certificate or national identification card showing that the applicant is a national of Iraq, along with a certified English translation, if the document is in a foreign language;
3) A copy of the positive recommendation, confirming employment of not less than one year beginning on or after March 20, 2003, normally from the U.S. citizen who has directly supervised the Iraqi employee or supervises the company at which the worker is employed;
4) A copy of the attached “Special Immigrant Visa Chief of Mission (SIVCOM) Approval for SIV Status” letter.
When you have all the required documents to submit your I-360 application package and you are ready to mail it to USCIS for a decision, please mail it to one of the addresses listed below:
