Between The Rock And A Hard Place
Dear Sir
Here in Iraq where the violence became part of our life, surrounding us, staring at us threatening our families, the only hope that kept us moving on is the promise that the United States made us by the Special Immigration Program as a compensation for what we have been throw during our employment with US Army, I am one of thousands who applied for this Program in order to receive a visa to our salvation, the waiting for the visa is a slow death in this country especially with the new procedures before issuing the visa which take almost a year after the interview at the embassy, every day we spend fearing on our children life’s as living in hell, we all understand the reason behind the security checks, but they should consider our circumstances, they should consider that since we accepted to work with US government we shared the danger with US Army we are even took more risks than the solders took because every time we go home we afraid of getting killed or kidnapped by insurgents, I have worked with Collation Forces since 2003 until the end of 2011 I have faced serious threats during these times and the militias tried to killed me several times by either throwing hand grenade on my house or shooting me during the missions with the US Troops in Iraq, Try to be in my place, when you drive or walk you feel that you have been followed by an assassin, That’s how I feel wherever I go that’s how I am living my (normal)life in Iraq I’m asking your kindness your conscious to conduct our case, we are the interpreters who served with the US Army for years and waiting for the reward which is living a normal life after the retirement not here in Iraq because we became the most wanted people after the troops withdrawal from Iraq, please be our loud voice in the media and publish our stories and our sufferings.
Steve
