We have let the Department of Homeland Security U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) know about your recent request and concerns. We also asked for a status update on your case.
USCIS has placed your case on hold pending completion of required security checks. These checks can take some time and it is unfortunately difficult to predict when they will be completed. Please be assured that USCIS has not forgotten about your case and will work to finalize a decision as quickly as possible.
This process is complex and so USCIS is unable to provide information about when your checks will be completed. Please note that the Ombudsman cannot compel USCIS to make a decision on your case and you must wait for security checks to be complete before a final decision can be made on your case. Again, they are now aware of your request for the case to be completed as quickly as possible.
Because USCIS knows of your concerns and request and because we are unable to provide you with any further information, we have closed your inquiry with our office. For future inquiries on the status of your case please contact your nearby Refugee Support Center (RSC) in your region. They can help you.
Please immediately notify the RSC if you experience any new life-threatening emergency (emergencies can include new personal threats or losses to you or your family, severe medical conditions, a woman in hiding with children, facing deportation to your country of persecution or other new threats). Also, contact the RSC if you change your contact information or need help moving to another country while you wait.
Also, please notify us immediately of the emergency and please reference case number ---------and include evidence of the emergency such as pictures or emails. We may be able to re-open your inquiry with our office, at that time.
Otherwise, please direct all further case inquiries to the RSC. We understand that all refugees face distress or general dangers and so we have done all that we can here and we appreciate your concern as you wait while your case is being actively reviewed.
