The Department of Attorney General and Justice received the unpleasant news of the loss of Mr. Basim Matti the Chairperson of the Chaldean Australian Society.
We, in the Diversity Services, of the Department of Attorney General and Justice would like to express our deep condolences and sorrow for the loss of such an influential figure in the Iraqi Community.
We also want to take the opportunity to express our sincere sympathy to the family of the deceased, all his friends and the people who worked and knew him.
We also want to acknowledge the important role that Mr. Basim has played in the Iraqi Communities and the amount of work he offered.
We know that Mr. Basim Matti has passed away, however we believe that what he had established while working as the chair of the Chaldean Australian Society will stay and live for many years to come.
