الميزانية و وبرنامج الهجرة الاسترالي 2014-2015
يوم 13 مايو عام 2014، تم تسليم الميزانية الاتحادية من قبل أمين الصندوق الكومنولث، وجو هوكي الكرام. وقد وصفت الميزانية باعتبارها واحدة من اصعب الموازنات في تاريخ أستراليا مع تخفيضات كبيرة في الصحة والتعليم التي تهدف للحد من العجز في 2014-15 من قبل ما يقرب من 20 مليار دولار مقارنة مع الأرقام المتوقعة سابقا للعام الحالي.
من وجهة نظر الهجرة، أعلنت هذه الميزانية أن البرنامج 2014-15 الهجرة سيوفر ما مجموعه 190،000 الأماكن. يتم تقسيم هذا الرقم إلى أسفل للسماح لل:
128550 أماكن لهجرة المهارات؛
60885 الأماكن للهجرة الأسرة
565 الهجرة الخاصة
تظهر هذه الأرقام استمرار التركيز على تيار المهرة كمصدر رئيسي للمهاجرين ذوي المهارات العالية الجدد الذين يمكن أن تسهم في النمو الاقتصادي في استراليا. وعلاوة على ذلك، استفادت فئات الأسرة أيضا دفعة طفيف في أرقام مع 335 الأماكن الإضافية المخصصة للشركاء والأطفال و500 مكان مزيد المخصصة لفئة الوالدين المساهمة.

Commonwealth Budget and the 2014-15 Australian Migration Programme
On 13 May 2014, the Federal Budget was delivered by the Commonwealth Treasurer, The Honorable Joe Hockey. The Budget has been labeled as one of the toughest budgets in Australia’s history with significant cuts to health and education aiming to reduce the 2014-15 deficits by approximately $20 billion compared to the previously projected figures for the current year.
From an immigration perspective, this Budget has announced that the 2014-15 migration programme will provide a total of 190,000 places. This figure is broken down to allow for:
128,550 places for skilled migration;
60,885 places for family migration and
565 places for migration through the special eligibility stream.
These figures show a continued focus on the skilled stream as the main source for new highly-skilled migrants who can contribute to the economic growth of Australia. Furthermore, the family categories have also benefited by a slight boost in numbers with an additional 335 places allocated for partners and children and a further 500 places allocated for the contributory parent category.
Other announcements made include the Government pledging to invest $1.3 million over four years to expand the streamlined student visa processing arrangements through eligible education providers and removing 4000 family stream places previously allocated to asylum seekers.
