Khona azeza Kirkukli Qardash Warda
Indeed I remember those days and specifically February , 1963.. I was a young person in junior high school in Kirkuk. My Kurdish friend Kameran Al-Salihi was a our neighbour in "Shaterlo Mahallasee". Now you remember "Casino Zuhair" where our house. So, in the day when these Fascist Baath Party executed so many people in Kirkuk, Myself and my friend Kameran were together near Al-Enthba6 Al-Askari location. So we went and saw bodes of 5-6 people hanged with their names on their chests. I looked at of them and his last name was "Al-Salihi". So, I turned to my friend Kameran and I told him that person looks like you and has same name as you do!!! Guess what, he was Kameran's brother who was hanged..
Well, it was very sad moments ands as a young person I was shocked and terrified to see people hanged in front of my eyes.. At any rate, after more than 50 years now, I saw Dr. Kameran Al-Salihi (my old friend from our youth days) was in a picture posted on Facebook by our dearest friend Dr. Muna Yaku. I was not sure whether he was Kamern or not, but I double checked with Muna. She confirmed that he was Kameran and she studied under his supervision for her Ph.D. degree.. What a small world..
Hope all is well with you and your lovely family my khona mokhibba men m'deetee khleeta Kirkuk..
Best wishes and regards,
Shimun
