Thank you for your interest in the Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) Program.
we regret to advise you that you are ineligible for the SIV program. This is because the project on which you are employed is funded by USAID under a grant and/or cooperative agreement.
Per instruction from the State Department’s Bureau of Consular Affairs, employment with a U.S. government project which has been funded by a grant or cooperative agreement cannot be considered for the 12 month employment requirement of the SIV program.
However, the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) does not make this distinction and you may still be eligible for resettlement in the United States with your family under the USRAP. For your reference we have attached USRAP information to this email and encourage you to read it carefully. If you have any questions about USRAP, and to submit your USRAP application, please email BaghdadInfoCenter@iom.int.
