The Baghdad Info Center writes to inform you that a final decision about your case has not yet been made. Your case has been deferred by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for the reason indicated in the attached letter.
Please understand that this deferral does not mean that your case has been denied. Decision deferrals indicate that further review of your eligibility for refugee resettlement in the United States is necessary.
Your case will continue to be processed. When there are updates on your case, and a final decision is made, you will be notified. It is not possible to estimate how long this will take.
You will find a scanned copy of your decision deferral letter attached to this email.
It is very important that your reply to this email (do not send a new, separate email) to confirm that you have received this email and the attached letter.
We can not proceed with your case until we have received a reply from you. When you reply please write the following:
“I confirm that I have received this email and the attached decision letter for my refugee case with the United States Refugee Admissions Program.”
Please write your name at the end of your reply.
After we receive your reply, we can proceed with your case.
Please note that if your case is approved you do not have an option about when you can depart or delaying your case for any reason.
Once you receive a date for departure, you must make plans to depart Iraq for the United States on the assigned date
