What could I do if the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) denied my application for refugee status?

There is no appeal to reject the request for refugee status. However, you may request that USCIS review your case again. USCIS may exercise its discretion to review the situation when you receive it in time for the request for reconsideration (RFR) from the main applicant or a third party if the principal applicant waives his / her rights to confidentiality. The request should include one or all of the following:

What do I need to know about writing RFR?

If someone other than a lawyer and provide for RFR, you must submit a letter stating that you waive your right to a secret along with RFR.
6. RFR should address the reason (s) have been denied to you. In order to determine the cause (s) for the denial, and read this letter carefully the decision or ask the staff of the Office of Adviser to the Prime Minister to explain it in detail.
7. If you think you made a mistake in the decision-making process, you must provide a detailed description of the error (s). If you have new information to provide, must contain sufficient detail to enable the auditor to take a decision on the case. If new information that contains facts that occurred prior to the interview USCIS, must include an explanation of why the information is not submitted initial interview.
8. RFR must be submitted within the time limit, and after no more than 90 days from the date of the decision (see date of notice of denial). If the RFR is not submitted within 90 days, must submit an explanation of why it is submitted late.
